Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updated Guidance for Churches
Wide, wide as the ocean, High as the heavens above, Deep, deep as the deepest sea, Is my Saviours love, I, though so unworthy, Still, I’m a child in his care, For his Word teaches me that his love reaches me, Everywhere!
Hello to you all, In many ways this is a very sad day. I never thought there would be a day when I couldn’t go to church. It’s in my DNA – I have gone to church since the day I was born, and I love it. The PCC had a very long and thoughtful meeting Monday night. We decided that we need to support the government and the NHS in keeping everyone safe. We admire their desire to keep the number of deaths to a minimum, and pray that will be the result.
We have cancelled everything…for that I am really sorry. But we are going to learn fast – we are going to learn how to live-stream services, and skype (I know that one already!), and if computers are not your thing then services will appear in print, for you to read, with a sermon to listen to, if you would like to. We can phone each other, and there will also be a person from the leadership or pastoral team who will phone you occasionally too. We can write notes to each other, and I am sure there will be other ways of keeping in touch.
Andy is going to find ways to share his Bible study, and we will work on other ideas too. Most of all, I would like to ask you to pray. If you are being asked to self-isolate, then please take a portion of your day to pray. Andy and I will keep up the prayers at Church of the Holy Spirit, and we will add more in. We will send out some set prayers which you can join in, or you could find some on an app? There are many: Daily Prayer is very good to follow, and Celtic Prayer is another to get you started.
Keep in touch, and do let us know if anyone in your family needs our prayers. I invite you to join me in being a Praying Parish.
With love, Gods blessing and protection, Stephanie
