Rev'd Stephanie Gillingham was installed as Rector on 28th January 2018, after serving as our Priest-in-Charge since 2013. The pictures below were taken at our special service with Archdeacon Elizabeth.
The Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Widford, proudly stands in the gateway of Chelmsford on the Chandlers Roundabout leading to Hylands Park and House. It was built in 1862 (for just £4,500!) by Arthur Pryor from Hylands House, the then centre of Widford Village.
Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS) was built in 1961 when Widford was ever expanding with housing and industry. CHS is in Forest Drive, as well as our Parish Centre is attached to Church of the Holy Spirit which is used on a weekly basis to hold events and gatherings.
You will receive a warm welcome at both churches, which are also children-friendly, with activities available for them during the services, with scripture specific material. We have a number of events and activities to which you are warmly invited to join us, as well as our Sunday services, which include tea, coffee and biscuits at the end:
St. Mary's - 9:30am - 11:00am
CHS - 10:30am - 12:00pm
Explore our website or call the office for more information about all the events and activities we have throughout the year; contact details and office hours can be found at the bottom of the page
We are part of Chelmsford South West Churches, which is made up of the Moulsham churches of St. Johns and St. Lukes as well as St. Michaels, Galleywood.
